Marketing and Communications Internship
Interns will work closely with the Manager of Marketing and Communications to establish and maintain the Museum’s marketing strategies and objectives. Interns will assist in the assembly of the member magazine and program guide, create and maintain social media campaigns, and update postings on the Museum’s website as well as external websites.
Responsibilities

Membership Magazine and Program Guide
- Gather information for the program guide and compile into necessary format(s) for designers
- Proof program guide and follow-up where necessary

Museum Website
- Using existing information, update the Museum website articles, features, and calendar listings

Bi-weekly electronic newsletter
- Manages all aspects of newsletter including drafting, editing, and layout (

Special- Interest e-blasts
- Design and edit e-blasts to special interest lists promoting new exhibitions, and up-coming events

Calendar postings on external websites
- Update external online calendars with Museum event information

Google Adwords
- Assist with the management of the Google Adwords account including the development of key search terms and phrases and creation of ads

Social Media
- Update posts and pictures on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, etc.
- Research target audience to increase engagement
10 – 30 hours per week (flexible)
A prospective intern should be an independent worker with strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Knowledge of Microsoft software, web skills, and office experience are required. Studies in marketing, communications, public relations or related fields preferred. Training will be provided for Drupal (website management system), MailChimp (email database and campaign management program), and Google Adwords.
