First Friday Films: Flor Silvestre

7:00 p.m. Pre-Film Lecture | 8:00 p.m. Film

Flor Silvestre (1943), which marked the return of Dolores del Rio to the big screen, explores the expressive nature of the Mexican landscape, as well as the revolution that shaped modern Mexico. Prior to the film Amy Galpin, Project Curator for American Art, will speak to some of the themes of the exhibition and the era now known as the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema, during which this film was made.

Visit the various tables on education, programs, support councils and more while enjoying brief informative talks from members of our staff throughout the morning.  The Reference Library will be open for browsing and Librarian James Grebl will give a 30-minute presentation in the auditorium on the icons, investors and intrigues that make the Museum what it is today.

It’s the perfect way to introduce a friend to the Museum while learning more about your membership. Afterwards, you and your guest (at no cost) may visit the Museum upon opening at 12:00.
