Yoga at the Museum

Monday, 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Hibben Gallery

Experience art in context during Yoga at the Museum. Strengthen your mind and body as you practice yoga in Museum galleries and meditate on the art around you. Instructor Amy Pachowicz will offer one six-week course ending in March and one four-week course beginning April 1. Classes are limited to 15 people and can be purchased individually or as a series.

Art of Élan: Dreams and Travels

Investigate the connection between Indian classical music and its influence on modern composers at Art of Élan's third concert of the season, Dreams and Travels. Tap into the transportive nature of music. Robert Aldridge's "Threedance," a highly rhythmic and lyrical work for violin, marimba and tablas is complimented by Indian classical music, recalling connections between contemporary and traditional music, yesterday and today.

ArtStops are 15 minute, staff-led tours of one to three works on view. Museum curators and educators present these brief yet always enlightening and informative talks every Thursday and third Tuesday at noon.

Second Saturday Workshop: Mixed Media Art

Inspired by Art of East Asia

Saturday, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The San Diego Museum of Art

Create a scroll work incorporating Chinese calligraphy and collage inspired by the mixed media objects on view in the Museum's new installation of Asian Art .  This three hour workshop led by Kathleen Kane-Murrell, local art educator and artist, will begin with a tour of the exhibition for inspiration.

Family Drop-In Day

Exploring Positive and Negative Space: Printmaking

Sunday, 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
The Studio

Explore the art element of positive and negative space through printmaking.

Each Sunday in The Studio we'll explore a new art-making activity inspired by paintings, sculptures, and drawings on view at The Museum.  Play with games, earn prizes from the Search and Find, and engage in family-friendly, docent-led tours.  

Recommended for families with children ages 6 - 12. Registration is not required, but space is limited.
