Just in time to celebrate the re-opening of our Asian art galleries, the Museum will once again offer classes of yoga, which originated in India and southern Asia. Instructor Amy Pachowicz will offer one six-week and one four-week course. Strengthen your mind and body as you meditate on the art all around you.
Class size is limited to 15 people.

Bodies and Shadows: Caravaggio and His Legacy introduces the work of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio (1571-1610), one of the most popular artists of the past, who rivaled in fame both Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci. The stories of Caravaggio's life are legend - more myth than history - describing traits of personality, including passion and brutality, that came to describe the unique qualities of his work.

The Museum recently acquired San Diego by Pedro de Mena using funds from the recent bequest of Donald. W. Shira and a generous gift from Anne Otterson.. Dr. John Marciari, Curator of European Art, will discuss the story behind this recent acquisition while shedding light on the sculptor Pedro de Mena and on San Diego, the saint for whom our city is named.

Create a watercolor landscape painting using colors and materials inspired by the California plein-air school of painting leader Charles Reiffel. This three hour workshop led by Lucy Eron, Museum Educator, will begin with a tour of the exhibition for inspiration.
The Second Saturday Workshop Series is a NEW adult program that will explore exhibitions and installations at the Museum. Each begins with a tour of the related exhibition, followed by the fine art workshop.
