Yoga at the Museum

Monday, 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
James S. Copley Auditorium

Strengthen your mind and body as you practice Yoga at the Museum.  Instructor Amy Pachowicz will offer one six-week course ending in March and one four-week course beginning April 1. Classes are limited to 15 people.

Art of Reading Book Club: The Hare with Amber Eyes: A Hidden Inheritance

The Ephrussis were a grand banking family who "burned like a comet" in 19th-century Paris and Vienna society. They were as rich and respected as the Rothschilds. Yet by the end of World War II, the only thing remaining of their vast empire was a collection of 264 wood and ivory carvings, none of them larger than a matchbox.

Family Drop-In Day

Exploring the Arts of East Asia: Calligraphy Animals

Sunday, 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
The Studio

Explore the Arts of Asia as you learn how to make a Calligraphy Animal under the guidance of an experienced Museum Educator.    

Each Sunday in The Studio we'll explore a new art-making activity inspired by paintings, sculptures, and drawings on view at The Museum.  Play with games, earn prizes from the Search and Find, and engage in family-friendly, docent-led tours.  

Recommended for families with children ages 6 - 12. Registration is not required, but space is limited.

En Plain-Air, A Charles Reiffel Tribute 2013, a show of selected works submitted for this plein-air competition, opens February 20 through March 27. Petersen, retired Cutrator of American Painting at the San Diego Museum of Art, and Jean Stern, Executive Director of the Irvine Museum.
