Seymour, a nerdy and lovelorn floral shop worker, raises Audrey II, a vicious, raunchy plant that feeds on human blood, named after his coworker and love interest Audrey. This 1986 fim is based on the 1960's comedy-horror-rock-musical and stars a singing plant, a daring hero, a sweet girl, and a demented dentist. Written by Howard Ashman and directed by Frank Oz, the film stars Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene, Vincent Gardenia, Steve Martin, Levi Stubbs, and a monstrous plant. Featuring many rock and roll, doo-wop, and Motown songs from the original musical Little Shop of Horrors claims to be "the most outrageous musical comedy in years."
Before the film, KPBS Film Critic and Arts Reporter, Beth Accomando, will give a lively talk. During the film, enjoy free popcorn and purchase cocktails from the cash bar. Guests also have the option of sharing a specialty food package.
