First Stop: Chinese Garden Tea and Tour at The Huntington
Take of 90-minute, docent-led, walking tour of The Huntington's Chinese Garden, and explore its dramatic architecture, botanical treasures, bridges, and lakes. Walk through the Garden of Flowing Fragrance, estate, and the new, 3.5-acre scholar's garden. Conclude your tour at the Fresh Water Pavilion Tea Shop, and enjoy a Chinese luncheon on the terrace beside the Lake of Reflected Fragrance (lunch included with ticket).
Second Stop: Picturing Mexico at the Pasadena Museum of California Art
Curated by former Museum curator, Amy Galpin, Ph.D, Picturing Mexico: Alfredo Ramos Martinez in California is the first comprehensive museum examination of works by Ramos Martinez (1871-1946) produced in California. Featuring works on paper, paintings, and murals created between 1929 and 1946, Picturing Mexico explores the artist's contribution to modernism. Divided into four sections: L.A. Stories, Many Women, Religious Piety, and Forever Mexico, the exhibition displays works from a number of prominent private and regional museum collections, including The San Diego Museum of Art.
