German Expressionism involved many art forms, from printmaking to film, music to dance. Dr. Nicolas Reveles, The Geisel Director of Education and Outreach for the San Diego Opera will discuss German Expressionism and the movement's artistic breadth before the screening of Metropolis, an iconic Expressionist film depicting the struggle between classes in a dystopian future.
Running time: 145 minutes.
