Friday, 10:00 a.m.
Dr. Kevin Petti, Ph.D., will provide a fascinating story of how Renaissance masters clandestinely examined anatomy through human dissection to gain the most realistic portrayal of their subjects. The profound connection between art and science is best demonstrated by the genius of Michelangelo. Attendees will have the opportunity to see the Museum's Renaissance collection from both a science and art perspective.
Dr. Kevin Petti, Ph.D., is a professor in the Departments of Science and Health at San Diego Miramar College, a textbook coauthor, and President Emeritus of Human Anatomy and Physiology Society.
The Friday Morning Lecture and Tour Series features outstanding scholars from throughout the art world. Held at 10:00 a.m. on the third Friday of each month, September through May, each lecture connects a topic to the permanent collection of the Museum. Each lecture is followed by a tour with a Docent.
