Independent curators and artists, Debby and Larry Kline, describe their thought processes as contemporary artists, and find commonalities between their body of work and the historical works from The San Diego Museum of Art's Permanent Collection. The Klines are known for posing provocative questions and challenging preconceptions through their work, and in this lecture they will decipher motive in some of the great classical works of the collection in the search for contemporary meaning.
This is the eighth lecture of the 2014 Friday Morning Lecture & Tour Series. Happening the third Friday of each month, each lecture focuses on works on view and is followed by a docent-led tour. View upcoming lectures.
