During this intimate lecture, David Kahn will offer perspectives on the exhibition Tako Kichi: Kite Crazy in Japan which features objects from his expansive collection of kites.
Presenting traditional kites from various regions of Japan, Tako Kichi: Kite Crazy in Japan explores cultural, historic, and artistic perspectives on kite-making and flying in Japan. Currently on view at the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the exhibition offer opportunities to create your own kite through a variety of engaging gallery activities. Kahn is currently Executive Director of the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake, New York, and past Director of the San Diego History Center.
