Meet Marika Sardar, Ph.D., the Museum's new Associate Curator for Southern Asian and Islamic Art. Marika joined the Museum's curatorial team in July from The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she gained specialized experience in the arts of India and the Islamic world.
On the Museum's Edwin Binney 3rd Collection, Marika has said, "I am excited to be at The San Diego Museum of Art and have the opportunity to work with the Edwin Binney 3rd Collection. It provides an excellent body of work with which to present the worlds of Indian and Persian art to our members and visitors, and I encourage all of you to come often to our galleries to see the every changing display of manuscript paintings."
Do not miss your first opportunity to hear the Museum's newest curator speak about her interest and plans for the Permanent Collection of the art of Southern Asia, Persia, and Islamic cultures.
Free after Museum admission.
