Creating unique, one-of-a-kind images using ink and printing plates on paper. Taking inspiration from the bold lines, colors, and shapes found in works by Claude Monet and Alfred Sisley, among others, this workshop involves the creations of monoprints and monotyes using various, and sometime surprising, materials.
Find out the subtle distinction between these two forms of printmaking while exploring this painterly practice. Originating as a loose and creative response to the exactness of photography, monoprints and monotypes involve manually adding or removing ink from a plate that is then printed. Led by art educator Ardina Greco, this workshop begins with a tour of works found in the Museum's Modern and Contemporary Art galleries.
