Using pastels, paint small sketches of water and sky on cardboard to complete seascapes inspired by Joaquín Sorolla's beach scenes in Sorolla and America. Capturing his native Valencia, the colors and motion depicted in these paintings are both distinct and reflective of a summer day on the beach in Coronado.
Designed for all skills levels, this workshop is led by pastel artist Susan Roden. Happening monthly, this Second Saturday Workshop has been extended by 30 minutes to allow more studio time.
The Second Saturday Workshop Series is an adult program that explores exhibitions and installations at the Museum. Each begins with a tour of the related exhibition, followed by a fine art workshop.
