In partnership with the Deputy Director for External Affairs, the Executive Director, Trustees and key volunteers, the Manager, Individual Giving, is responsible for developing and successfully implementing strategies for fundraising from individuals to support the Museum’s exhibitions, programs and operating needs. This position is also responsible for solicitation of gifts up to the $10K level and managing the Museum’s annual fund and travel program.
Coordinate solicitations and event activities related to the Circle program—the museum’s leadership annual giving program. Provide administrative support for the Development department including written correspondence, scheduling, phone calls and other administrative duties. Solicitation activities include phone, email, museum tours, and personal visit solicitations. Some evening and weekend hours required (3-4 times per month).
Circle Program Duties:
The San Diego Museum of Art is seeking an Associate Director of Major Gifts who will report directly to the Deputy Director of External Affairs.
Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Special Events Manager and the Special Events Assistant, The Special Event Lead will provide on-site coordination support to external booked events including but not limited to weddings, corporate events, and community functions. the Special Event Lead will provide some logistical and administrative support for special events produced by the museum including: fundraising galas such as Art Alive, exhibition openings, donor receptions and dinners, as required. Mainly evening and weekend hours.
The Marketing and Communications intern will work closely with the Marketing and Communications department to learn, establish and maintain the Museum’s marketing strategies and objectives. The intern will learn and assist in the assembly of e-newsletters, online campaigns, and assist updating postings on the Museum’s website as well as external websites. The prospective Intern should be able to multitask with strong attention to detail, and superb writing and organizational skills. Knowledge of Microsoft, web skills, and office experience are required.
