Landscape/Cityscape in Europe
Through August 29, 2004

This special display in the Museum's old master galleries examines the evolution of landscape painting in Europe from its beginnings as a backdrop to religious and historical subjects during the Early Renaissance to its emergence as an independent genre during the Baroque era. Among the featured works from the Museum's collection are fine examples by Bermejo, Veronese, Canaletto, Guardi, Belletto, and van Ruisdael.
