Reports to: Deputy Director, Operations & Finance
The Administration Department of the San Diego Museum of Art is seeking a Finance intern to prepare analysis for the Chief Administrative Officer related to several key areas of operations: attendance, café financial performance and overhead allocations. This is an unpaid internship.
Primary duties include:
- Developing a model to forecast daily, weekly, and monthly attendance based on historical information and upcoming exhibition and public program schedules.
- Create a seasonality analysis of café income and expenses. Include an analysis of the correlation of café revenue to museum attendance.
- Assist with the creation of a plan to allocate overhead expenses to exhibitions, public programs and events
Qualifications:
The internship is open to currently enrolled undergraduate students with majors in finance or business and completion of a minimum of two financial analysis or management classes.
Other qualifications include:
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to build spread sheets and financial models
- Detail oriented, flexible and strong initiative
- Computer literate: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project and Access Data base
Hours:
10-25 hours per week. Hours are flexible, depending on class schedules; however, interns preferably will be able to work in four to five hour blocks of time.
