| Toulouse-Lautrec: THIS poster advertised for the illustrated art review L'Aube ("The Dawn"), which was launched in the spring of 1896. |
|
| It is early dawn and two dramatic rays of light from the street lamp reveal a driver muffled against the morning's damp chill, as a beleaguered peasant woman pushes a dustcart along a steep street. Lautrec conveys a wonderful light and atmosphere through the same spattered turquoise ink as he employed in Le Tocsin.
