Corporate Giving

The San Diego Museum of Art welcomes the opportunity to create meaningful relationships with corporate sponsors.  Companies that promote arts and culture directly benefit the San Diego community. We welcome corporations’ assistance in the form of cash sponsorships, gifts-in-kind, and matching gifts.

Partners in Art program: Significant resources are required to preserve, protect, and present great achievements in art. The corporate community, through the Partners in Art program, helps maintain the quality of the collections, support visiting exhibitions, and ensure the growth and accessibility of the Museum. This special group of leaders shares a passion for art and supports the vital and extensive contributions that The San Diego Museum of Art makes to the community, to its members and donors, and to visitors from all over the world.  Our Partners-in-Art program is a business partnership with the Museum that brings increased visibility to corporations along with many other benefits.  All levels of sponsorship provide exceptional value for the contribution, including recognition and enhanced networking.

Our Partners in Art receive benefits including (for a full listing of benefits by giving level, see the Partners in Art - Benefit Table):

  • Invitations to exhibition preview receptions
  • Recognition in our Membership Magazine, in collateral, and on the Digital Donor Board in the  Museum’s John M. & Sally B. Thornton Rotunda
  • Employees and clients will have opportunities to visit the Museum for free
  • Host a private corporate event in the Museum

Become a Partner in Art and join the growing community of businesses who support The San Diego Museum of Art.

Sponsorship Opportunities: The San Diego Museum of Art’s world-class exhibitions and education programs provide exceptional sponsorship opportunities for both large corporations and small businesses. Exhibition underwriting is a vital source of financial support for the Museum and a valuable public relations tool for corporate partners. The Museum works closely with each corporate sponsor to establish a benefit package that ensures prominent visibility among a large and diverse audience.

For additional information about partnering with the Museum, please contact the Museum’s Development Office by email or by calling 619.696.1993.

Charitable giving is a powerful business tool

Savvy companies know that there’s more to being in business than just making money. In today’s business climate, corporate social responsibility is as important as the bottom line. In fact, it can be a key strategy to increasing the bottom line and keeping employees and shareholders engaged. Consider these facts:

  • Customers with a favorable impression of a company’s charitable activities are three times more likely to be loyal customers.

  • Employees who believe in their company’s philanthropy are five times more likely to remain with that employer.

  • 82% of shareholders are influenced by a company’s corporate citizenship reputation when deciding whether or not to buy that company’s stock.
