Worldwide there are 25.8 million Sikhs and they make up 2% of the Indian population. Dr. Gurinder Singh Mann, the Kundan Kaur Kapany Chair in Sikh Studies at UC Santa Barbara, presents this unique opportunity to learn about Sikh history and tradition. The presentation will begin with Guru Nanak (1469-1539), the founder of the Sikh Tradition, and trace the community's evolution through different phases of its fascinating history concluding with the emergence of the Sikhs as a global community.
