DESCRIPTION:Through the lens of Haussmannization, a term describing the physical changes made to the urban landscape of Paris between 1851 and 1870, Dr. Julia Marciari-Alexander, Deputy Director for Curatorial Affairs, will explore the ways that politics, literature, and the visual arts - specifically images of women - intersected in the City of Light during the reign of Napoleon III.
