Charles Reiffel (1861-1942) is widely regarded today as one of the foremost figures in the California plein air school of landscapes paintings.  This catalogue aims to reevaluate Reiffel as a leading practitioner of Post-Impressionism in the United States.

Authors: Dr. Ariel Plotek is an Assistant Curator at the San Diego Museum of Art, and a specialist in art of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Dr. Bram Dijkstra is Professor Emeritus of Comparative Literature at the University of California, San Diego.
