Teen Art Cafe

First instituted in the fall of 2008, Teen Art Café @ The Museum introduces teen artists to Museum exhibitions and focuses the program’s activities around the content behind the works of art on view.

Art making, joining other teen artists, art material raffles, and meeting exhibiting artists and performers round out the Café experiences.  Students attend from a variety of San Diego middle and high schools as well as community centers, continuing partnerships with local art and media focused high schools. The program also provides additional Museum-related art experience opportunities for under-resourced communities currently served by Museum outreach efforts.

The events, now presented twice in the school year, encourage high school students that are interested in art to visit the Museum and to participate in exhibition-related programming designed for their age group.

For more information about Teen Art Cafe @ The Museum, contact teencafe@sdmart.org.

Next Event:

Teen Art Cafe @ The Museum: Mexican Punk Art.

Wednesday, November 2nd.  See calendar for more information.
