DESCRIPTION:April 12–14\n9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. \nThe Museum is in full bloom for this signature fundraiser and annual exhibition with nearly 100 floral interpretations of the works of art on view. 2019 Rotunda Designer Jennifer McGarigle will transform the John M. and Sally B. Thornton Rotunda into a large\, all-encompassing floral installation. In addition\, hands-on art-making and interactive activities designed for children and families to do together are offered April 13–14 in the Garden of Activities. \nAdmission to the Art Alive Floral Exhibition is free for members. This authentic viewpoint often humbly defies the norm giving his work both power and vulnerability.Profoundly affected by his upbringing in the rural Blueridge Mountains of Virginia\, Monty’s work has always been informed by his visceral and emotional reactions to daily experiences whether in exploration of nature or trekking city streets.
