In this version of Not Fade Away\, a project she designed for the San Diego Museum of Art\, Hayes stitches together several types of pliant materials — colored plastic theatrical gels\, translucent organza\, and opaque reflective gold lamé — to create dynamic constructions that swoop through the Sculpture Court\, activating their surroundings. Colorful dapples of light play across the ground\, giving the viewer a new awareness of place\, time\, and space. The warm color palette of this work evokes the opulence of the Museum\, the epic sunsets off the coast\, and the golden Oklahoma sunshine\, where the artist resides. \nRachel Hayes received her BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute in Fiber\, and her MFA in Painting from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a recipient of the Joan Mitchell Award in Painting and Sculpture\, Augustus Saint-Gaudens Memorial Fellowship in Sculpture\, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Professional Fellowship in Sculpture\, Virginia Commission for the Arts Fellowship in Sculpture\, and a Charlotte Street Fund Award. \n \nDavis McCarty\n\n \nDavis McCarty’s functionally-integrated architectural sculptures have been installed and exhibited at museums\, iconic buildings\, and art festivals around the globe including: the Wright Museum of Art\, Sears Tower\, Union Station\, Zhou B Art Center\, Burning Man\, and Symbiosis. His work is held in the Illinois State Museum public collection.  \n\nBLOOM BASH Chairs\nRobin Wilson Carrier\nGita Khadiri\nMitch Mitchell\nMicki Olin\n\n\n\n\nEvent Sponsors\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n  \nEvent Partners:\nBright Event RentalsCanteenEleven Eleven WinesLyftRanch & CoastSDAV \nSweet & Savory Station Sponsors:\nAnimaeBali Hai RestaurantBESHOCK RamenBobboi Natural GelatoBull & BourbonCafé CoyoteCalifornia Tap RoomCharles & Dinorah @ The Pearl HotelChoice SuperfoodCoast CateringContinental CateringCravory CookiesCreative CateringCUCINA UrbanaCuraderoDang Brother PizzaDel Frisco’s Double Eagle SteakhouseEclipse ChocolateExtraordinary DessertsGolden DoorHash House a Go GoHerringbone La JollaHuntressKairoa Brewing CO.Loews Coronado Bay ResortLumi by Akira BlackMayas CookiesMedinaMIHO Catering Co.Mister A’sNobu San DiegoPuestoSearsucker San DiegoStake ChophouseSugar KilnSweet Petite ConfectionsThe Corner Draft HouseThe CravoryThe French GourmetThe OceanaireThe Prado at Balboa ParkThe Smoking GoatThe Wild Thyme CompanyTom Ham’s LighthouseTruluck’s Seafood\, Steak\, and Crab HouseWolf in the Woods \n  \n  \n\n
