DESCRIPTION:Friday\, June 24\nPerformances 4:00–6:00 p.m. PT\nArtist and Art-Making Booths 4:00–7:00 p.m. PT\nMuseum steps \n  \n\n  \nIn celebration of Pride month\, The San Diego Museum of Art is partnering with San Diego Pride and Art of Pride to present Expressions of Pride: On the Steps at SDMA.\nExpressions of Pride is an experience that brings together artists from multiple disciplines including visual artists\, musicians\, dancers\, and spoken word artists to celebrate the diversity of identities and communities encompassed by Pride. \n  \nIn honor of Larry Baza and his dedication to art\, the community\, and bringing Pride to Balboa Park\, the Museum is offering free admission* from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on June 24 for the Expressions of Pride: On the Steps at SDMA. Enjoy the Museum after hours and partake in a self-guided tour of works of art by LGBTQ+ artists currently on view. Brochures are available at the admission desks\, or download the SDMA app for an audio tour. In-person guided docent tours are also available at 5:15 and 6:00pm! \n  \nPerformances by:\n\nDISCO RIOT\nGilbert Castellanos\nSan Diego Shakespeare Society\nNishi la Tremenda y Sus Aliados\n\n  \nArtist and art-making booths featuring:\n\nArt by Betty Bangs\, John Keasler\, Martin Luera\, and other local LGBTQ+ artists\nCommunity mural art interactive\nPublic art-making activity with SDMA Educators\n\n  \nAll are welcome!\n  \n    \n  \n*Free admission excludes special exhibition Monet to Matisse: Impressionist Masterpieces from the Bemberg Foundation for which there is an additional charge ($5) for nonmembers\, ages 7+ due to the staff and logistics necessary for the special exhibition. Members receive free admission to the special exhibition. Advanced tickets are not required.

The summer fun kicks off with Expressions of Pride: On the Steps at SDMA on Friday\, June 24\, during which admission to the Museum is free* from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Regular admission rates apply during Summer Friday Extended Hours Friday\, July 1\, through Friday\, August 5. \nSee all the Museum has to offer\, including new contemporary art; TERRA\, the first US solo exhibition by Chilean ceramicist Fernando Casasempere; special exhibition Monet to Matisse: Impressionist Masterpieces from the Bemberg Foundation ($5 surcharge for nonmembers); and great gift items at The Museum Store.
