DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, January 28\n2:00–5:00 p.m. PT\nMuseum steps \n\n\n\nA festival celebrating Indigenous Oaxacan arts and culture\n  \nJoin us for a free celebration of art\, folklórico dance\, and music inspired by the world-famous Guelaguetza festival from the Mexican state of Oaxaca. The celebration will be presented alongside Sergio Hernández: Embers of Oaxaca\, on view through February 12\, 2023. The program will feature six traditional dances from regions throughout the state of Oaxaca\, plus regional songs\, all directed by Mexicali-based Compañía Esplendor Folklórico. \nThis event is presented in partnership with the Mexican Consulate General of San Diego and the Baja California Secretary of Culture. \nFree Museum admission Saturday\, January 28 from 2:00–5:00 p.m. and family-friendly art-making activities complement the event.  \nJoin us for a culturally immersive extravaganza to remember! \n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, January 28\n5:00–7:00 p.m. PT\nSpeaker: Ravi Reddy\, psychiatrist\, author\, and teacher \n  \nSAAC socials are interactive events that offer the opportunity to mingle and to get to know support council members. This year\, please choose an artwork that you love\, either from your own collection or from anywhere else\, to share with the group with photographs or images. \nAs per our tradition at previous socials\, please wear something South Asian\, whether a scarf\, jewelry\, hair band\, hat\, clothing\, or anything you wish\, as long as it is visible on screen. \nRavi Reddy will start the evening with a short presentation. \n  \nPlease reserve your spot by clicking on this link.
