SUMMARY:Art of Elan: Portraits and Pictures
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, March 15\n7:00–8:00 p.m. PT\nMuseum rotunda \n  \nInspired by the life-like oil painting portraits by local artist Carlo Miranda\, this diverse musical program is a mosaic of sounds\, drawing from a myriad of traditions\, histories\, and cultures. The evening features the internationally renowned Formosa Quartet and four San Diego premieres. \n  \nThe Portrait and Pictures concert program features \n\n“Parlour Games” by Michael Oesterle (double bass and cello) *San Diego premiere \n“Canto” by Ludovico Einaudi (solo cello) *San Diego premiere\n“American Mirror Part II” by Derrick Skye (string quartet) *San Diego premiere\n“American Roadmap” compilation of folk songs curated by Formosa Quartet *San Diego premiere\n\n  \nSee Carlo Miranda: In Search of Sonder before the performance. The exhibition will open to Art of Elan ticket holders at 6:00 p.m.\, one hour prior to the concert start time. \nCarlo Miranda: In Search of Sonder is on view at the Museum February 18–November 19\, 2023. \n  \nMembers $40 | Adults $50 | Military $45 | Senior $45 | Students $15 \nTickets are on sale now.
