DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, May  21st \n1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. PT \n  \nGeorgia O’Keeffe and Henry Moore were uncannily similar in their pursuit of natural forms: bones and stones\, shells; the unity of the female body with nature. They independently sought and were inspired by the organic roots of modern abstraction\, half a world away from each other. This tour will explore these artists’ works and the connection between the themes in which they were engaged\, comparing their working methods\, exploration of found objects\, and the juxtaposition of unlikely forms. \nPlease reserve your spot by clicking on this link. SUMMARY:SDMA+ Malashock Dance
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, May 21\n3:00\, 3:30\, and 4:00 p.m. PT\nMuseum rotunda \n  \nSDMA in partnership with Malashock Dance presents a modernist dance performance inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe’s paintings and Henry Moore’s iconic sculpture Working Model of Oval with Points. Dancers will perform around Moore’s work of art installed in the Museum’s historic rotunda. The program is offered alongside O’Keeffe and Moore on view May 13–August 27\, 2023. \nEnjoy new choreography by John Malashock—featuring dancers Lauren Christie\, Jessica Rabanzo-Flores\, and Micah Parra—plus\, live music by composer/guitarist Rann Golamco. \nJoin us for a truly unique experience at the intersection of art\, dance\, and music! \n  \nPerformances begin at: \n\n3:00 p.m.\n3:30 p.m.\n4:00 p.m.\n\n  \nFree with Museum admission.
