Enjoy early access to see nearly 100 spectacular floral arrangements interpreting works of art throughout the Museum; appreciate a festive large-scale floral installation by 2025 Rotunda Designer Natasha Lisitsa and Daniel Schultz; and enjoy special art installations only on view during Art Alive. \nDuring the Members’ Preview\, members get to vote for their favorite interpretations in the Art Alive Floral Exhibition to select the three Members’ Choice winners. \nMember Tickets Are Now Available!\n \nReserve Art Alive Members’ Preview Timed Tickets \n  \n\nMembers receive complimentary access to Art Alive. Individual members can reserve one timed ticket for Art Alive; all other members may reserve two timed tickets. In the event of Bloom Bash cancellation due to inclement weather\, all tickets are considered fully deductible charitable donations. \n  \n\nBloom Bash Featured Artists\nChristopher Schardt\n\n  \nChristopher Schardt is an LED artist from Oakland\, California\, best known for his large\, immersive works such as Mariposa\, Paraluna\, Mind Wash and Firmament.  He also creates smaller sculptures for indoor spaces.  Many of his pieces rotate\, making use of persistence-of-vision to create shimmering\, high-resolution displays. \nHis works have appeared at many venues including Burning Man\, Electric Daisy Carnival\, Hudson Yards\, The Smithsonian Institution\, the Cincinnati Art Museum\, the Oakland Museum of California\, Blink Cincinnati\, the Charlotte International Art Festival\, and the 2020 World’s Fair in Dubai. \n  \nGerman Corrales\n\n  \nGerman is an internationally recognized artist and a creative force for change. Born and raised in Tijuana and San Diego’s Barrio Logan\, Chicano Park\, he is a first-generation descendant of Purepecha heritage from Michoacán\, Mexico. As a renowned Chicano Park muralist\, German has dedicated over 20 years to teaching and giving back to his community. \nCurrently serving as an Artist in Residence in Logan Heights\, San Diego\, German continues to collaborate with various organizations\, including The Chicano Park Museum\, San Diego Unified School District\, UCSD Park and Market Murals\, City Heights Music School\, Perkins Elementary School\, The Chrysalis Monarch Center for the Arts\, and All For Logan Non-Profit. Additionally\, as of October 2024\, he has been commissioned by the City of San Diego to showcase his artwork on over 45 IKE Smart Cities kiosks throughout the city\, with the project launching in November 2024 and running for six months. Internationally\, German partners with Proyecto Coyote in Michoacán\, the Gobierno de Michoacán\, and the community of Cherán\, where he continues to teach and paint murals in his ancestral homeland. \n  \nRamon Franco Arambula\n\n  \nRamon Franco Arambula was born in Jalisco\, Mexico\, closely observing and working with the artistic work of his very talented uncle. At the age of eight\, he moved to Texas as a first-generation immigrant. He graduated from San Jose State University in California with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and started a custom\, handmade sculpture studio in the Bay Area. Ramon designs\, develops\, produces\, constructs\, and displays all his works himself all over the Bay Area and abroad. Ramon’s work has been described as “ethereal realism” and whimsically realistic. The work blends impossible imagery with elements of sculpture to create unique\, dreamlike environments. Elements of nature\, technology and spiritualism are major components of his work. He notes\, “Everything that I make means something\, my work feels safe\, and it makes me feel more in control. Join Museum educators in the floral-themed art-making space in The San Diego Museum of Art sculpture garden to craft and create through a variety of hands-on arts projects. \n\n  \nExplore intersections of botanicals\, art\, and architecture in this year’s new Garden of Activities adventure.\nStart your creative journey inside the Museum at Gallery 19 on Saturday or Sunday between 12:30 and 4:00 p.m. to make a paper flower or commemorative butterfly to add to our collaborative community mural. Commemorative butterflies are created in partnership with The Elizabeth Hospice to celebrate and remember someone that you are grieving. Marcy Sculpture Garden \n  \nCreate your own floral-themed works of art!\nGreat for art enthusiasts of all ages\, the Art Alive Garden of Activities brings hands-on fun to the daytime floral extravaganza of Art Alive weekend. Join Museum educators in the floral-themed art-making space in The San Diego Museum of Art sculpture garden to craft and create through a variety of hands-on arts projects. \n\n  \nExplore intersections of botanicals\, art\, and architecture in this year’s new Garden of Activities adventure.\nStart your creative journey inside the Museum at Gallery 19 on Saturday or Sunday between 12:30 and 4:00 p.m. to make a paper flower or commemorative butterfly to add to our collaborative community mural. Commemorative butterflies are created in partnership with The Elizabeth Hospice to celebrate and remember someone that you are grieving. The collaborative mural is located at the entrance to Garden of Activities near the Panama 66 restaurant entrance. \n  \n\nCross through the sculpture court into the garden to find music and art stations featuring the following activities: \n\nConstruct an accordion book inspired by the Foster + Partners: Architecture of Light and Space exhibition to be filled with your Art Alive Garden of Activities creations \n\nFashion a 3D flower model\nPhotograph florals and botanicals\nJournal or write poetry\nCreate a mini-artwork based on Bouquet by Henri Matisse now on view at The San Diego Museum of Art\nMake a botanical artwork on blueprint paper\nDesign a postcard collage that brings together urban landscapes interconnected with nature with our community partner TAAE/ATEA (The Transborder Association of Architectural Education).\n\n  \nGarden of Activities is free with Art Alive floral exhibition admission. \nArt Alive Tickets on Sale Now \nGet Art Alive Tickets \n  \nExpand your Art Alive experience with our NEW Family Sponsorship packages.
