SUMMARY:Paintings from the Confinement
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, June 18\n10:00 a.m. PT\nSpeaker: Marianela de la Hoz\, artist\n \n  \nJoin in conversation with San Diego artist Marianela de la Hoz to discover the ways her highly detailed realistic paintings and drawings explore the very core of our shared humanity. Eleven of her recent works are featured in Paintings from the Confinement\, now on view in the Museum’s American galleries. These intimate egg tempera paintings reveal not only the artist’s feelings about her experiences over the past year\, but also illustrate why her work has been the subject of numerous museum exhibitions. \n  \nRegister now to save your spot. Space is limited.\nAll participants will be sent the Zoom link and instructions via email once you secure your place. \n\nThis lecture is presented as a part of the Guest Lecture Series\, which focuses on works of art on view in the Museum as well as topics of interest in the broader art world. Lectures are followed by docent-led virtual tours. \nSponsored by The San Diego Museum of Art Docent Council. \n  \nFeatured: Marianela de la Hoz\, 2020\, Global Coup d’etat (2020\, Golpe de estado global) (detail)\, 2020.
