Archer finds his comfortable\, well-ordered existence—including an impending marriage to the lovely May (Winona Ryder)—turned upside down by the sudden arrival of May’s cousin Ellen Olenska (Michelle Pfeiffer)\, a divorcée who refuses to conform to the strict rules of New York society.
