DESCRIPTION:Tied to the thoughtful works of photographic art in Masters of Photography from the Garner Collection\, this special 15-minute multi-media performance video takes a closer look at the power of transformation. This kickoff concert acts as a journey through time and place\, opening with Renaissance madrigals sung by members of Bach Collegium\, followed by the short one-movement Quartettsatz by the beloved classical composer Franz Schubert. The journey continues with a musical tribute to Duke Ellington\, providing both contrast and context for the colorful and haunting final work on the program\, “The Consolation of Rain\,” written by Art of Élan friend and famed contemporary composer\, David Bruce. \nThis concert is inspired by the exhibition Javier Marín on view September 1\, 2018 through March 3\, 2019. \n$40 member | $45 student\, senior\, military | $50 general admission \n\nTickets go on sale September 7.\nReceive 10% off when purchasing the entire series.
