DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, August 17\n9:00–10:00 a.m. PT\nMOPA@SDMA Atrium \n  \nExplore the connections of sound\, art\, and wellness. \nJoin Museum educators and Zen Soul Balance for an immersive sound healing experience in the MOPA@SDMA Atrium. This summer we are exploring the intersection of wellness and art. The practitioners of Zen Soul Balance state that during this meditative practice\, harmonious sound waves fill the space as you relax on a mat and receive vibrations from crystal singing bowls\, gongs\, drums\, and chimes. They invite you to enjoy deep relaxation\, one of the most significant benefits you will receive\, as the sounds permeate your system and return it back to harmony.  \n  \nParticipants may wish to bring: \n\nEye covering\nSmall wrap or blanket\n\n  \nYoga mats will be provided on site. \n  \nAdvance registration required; tickets will not be available at the door. Inspired by work int he Museum’s permanent collection\, learn about warp and weft while you make your own small weaving using cardboard looms\, silk sari remnants\, yarn\, and other textiles. \nNo reservation required. All materials will be provided. \n  \nGreat for artists of all ages\, Community Art Workshops invite artists to enjoy hands-on art making experiences inspired by the thinking and creating processes of artists on view at the Museum.
