As one flies to Berlin\, he reflects on the enigmatic Renaissance painting Saint Sebastian’s Abyss—the work that launched their careers\, destroyed their friendship\, and now frames this darkly comic meditation on art\, obsession\, and belief. Copley Auditorium and Online\nHybrid Event \nJoin us for an evening with renowned artist Nick Cave\, whose multidisciplinary practice spans sculpture\, installation\, performance\, and video. Best known for his celebrated Soundsuits\, elaborate full-body sculptures that merge art\, fashion\, and social commentary\, Cave creates work that speaks to issues of identity\, race\, and healing. His work Rescue\, from the Museum’s permanent collection\, is currently on view in the Art of the Americas galleries\, offering audiences a chance to experience his practice firsthand. \nThe program will begin with a talk by the artist reflecting on his body of work\, followed by a conversation-style interview and an audience Q&A. Hear the group perform a full set of classic songs and carols with traditional Renaissance instruments and soaring vocals. \nPerformance includes English Christmas carols “Nowell Sing We” and “The Boar’s Head”; traditional French Christmas carols “Noël nouvelet” and “Il Est Ne\, Le Divin Enfant”; and more. \n  \n\nFree with Museum admission.
