Alfredo Ramos Martínez will be our inspiration in his use of high contrast and limited palette to illustrate the human form in everyday poses. We will create portraits in sketch and wash through the eyes of Rivera and Siqueiros\, examining their compositions\, poses\, and sitters. Figure study opportunities will range from realism to abstracted forms. Charcoal\, Conté\, pastel\, and gouache will be used to create multiple studies in an immersive interactive studio experience. The workshop begins with an exclusive\, before-hours tour of the exhibition Modern Masters from Latin America: The Peréz Simón Collection. Participants will then be led through a hands-on workshop by Museum Educator Rogelio Casas. Workshop fee includes all supplies. Open to all skill levels. \n$65 members\, students | $70 seniors\, military | $75 nonmembers \nWorkshop Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours prior to class time to receive a full refund. From ancient times to the contemporary world\, Héctor Tajonar will explore these changes through masterpieces from the Museum’s permanent collection as well as those found in collections throughout the world. \nHéctor Tajonar is an editor and co-author of numerous art publications as well as an award-winning documentarian focused on art and culture.
