The Australian-born\, Paris-based jazz pianist and singer is poised to join the rarefied air occupied by superstars ‪Diana Krall and ‪Norah Jones. She’ll perform a rich collection of originals\, as well as jazz standards from the likes of George Gershwin\, Jerome Kern\, Johnny Mercer and Michel Legrand\, backed by a top shelf band including Castellanos himself. \nAt 7:30 p.m. a pre-concert talk about some of the most legendary pianists in jazz will be given by James Romeo*\, professor of music at San Diego Mesa College where he directs the award-winning Concert Jazz Band and the Kearny Mesa Concert Band.
