SUMMARY:The Art of Brewing: Art & Empire
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, July 11\n5:00 to 8:00 p.m.\nCoronado Brewing Company\, 1205 Knoxville Street\, San Diego \nCost: Free for Gallery Collective members (cash bar) \n\nThe San Diego Museum of Art and SouthNorte Beer Co. invite you to join us for a celebration of our collaboration centered around Art & Empire. The Art of Brewing series begins with a beer inspired by Still Life with Quince\, Cabbage\, Melon and Cucumber by Juan Sánchez Cotán\, a featured painting in SDMA’s groundbreaking exhibition\, Art & Empire: The Golden Age of Spain. \nGallery Collective members are invited to join us where SouthNorte is brewed\, at Coronado Brewing Company’s Main Brewery and Tasting Room\, for a private brewery tour and an exclusive preview sample of this specialty brew before it launches at Culture & Cocktails on July 25! \nSpace is limited. Event subject to change.\nParking is limited; we encourage you to rideshare or transit.\nCash bar and food available.  \nThis event is exclusive to The Gallery Collective membership level and above. \nRSVP required. RSVP by 12 p.m. on July 10 to rsvp@sdmart.org \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSouthNorte Beer Co. was born at the crossroads of cultures\, where the blend of energies\, wisdom\, and talents equal more than the sum of the parts. We are brewers\, makers\, and travelers wanting to see where we can take beer. And where it can take us. We explore the best of what each lado brings to the table. We cross borders and brew locally. We craft with an accent. We are SouthNorte. Hecho en San Diego. \nRYAN BROOKS: A BREWMASTER BRIDGING TWO WORLDS\nRyan Brooks has always loved beer. When he wasn’t travelling the world behind a drumkit\, he was homebrewing. A lot. He eventually turned this into a career\, working his way up to Brewmaster at one of San Diego’s most award-winning breweries. While honing his brewing chops in San Diego\, Ryan moved to Tijuana where he judged homebrew competitions\, made tons of friends and met his wife. Ryan now lives in SD\, but his heart is in Baja. It’s this cross-border connection that makes Ryan the perfect SouthNorte brewer.
