The 2026 event draws inspiration from the Museum’s Centennial exhibition featuring its renowned collection of works by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Art Alive will be infused with the vibrant\, theatrical spirit of late 19th-century Paris\, brought to life through Toulouse-Lautrec’s distinctive artistic lens. \nSee the Museum rotunda transform with a beautiful floral installation by 2026 Rotunda Designer Kelsea Olivia\, Founder & Creative Director of East Olivia\, experience special art installations only on view during Art Alive\, and enjoy hands-on art-making and interactive activities designed for families and artists of all ages to do together in the Garden of Activities Saturday\, April 25 and Sunday\, April 26. \nArt Alive is The San Diego Museum of Art’s signature annual fundraiser\, providing essential support for the Museum’s exhibitions\, education\, outreach\, and public programs. Talented floral designers fill the galleries with fragrant arrangements inspired by the Museum collection\, offering a brilliantly colored backdrop for a weekend of beloved traditions and art-inspired activities. \n  \nPlease note that reserving your timed ticket is required. Limited number of first-come\, first-served same-day Art Alive tickets available at the Art Alive entry tent. \n  \nTickets on sale January 20\, 2026\, for members and\nJanuary 26\, 2026\, for nonmembers\nGet Art Alive Tickets \nFree for members | $45 nonmembers | $10 youth (ages 7–17) | Free youth (ages 0–6) \nBecause Art Alive is our signature fundraiser and a special ticketed event\, member guest passes\, Balboa Park Explorer Passes\, Go Cards\, reciprocal benefits\, and other discounted general admission tickets are not accepted during Art Alive weekend. Learn more about the event in our Art Alive FAQs.\n \nChildren 14 and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian (age 18 years or older) at all times. \n  \nMembers may also reserve tickets to the Art Alive Members’ Preview on Friday\, April 24 from 8:00 a.m.–noon. \nMembers receive complimentary access to Art Alive. Individual members can reserve one timed ticket for Art Alive; all other members may reserve two timed tickets. Members can attend the Art Alive floral exhibition each event day but must reserve a timed ticket for each day. \nMembers please create an account or log in to the Member Portal to reserve your tickets. Marcy Sculpture Garden \n  \nCreate your own floral-themed works of art.\nGreat for families\, youth\, and creatives of all ages\, the Garden of Activities is a hands-on\, floral-themed creative experience during Art Alive weekend. Now with an earlier Sunday start time\, the Garden of Activities expands to accommodate more art explorers. Step into the world of the Belle Époque\, inspired by the work of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and the spirit of turn-of-the-century Paris. The garden transforms into a festive\, open-air salon where visitors of all ages can explore\, create\, and play. At the heart of the space\, a drawing pavilion with live models in period attire evokes a Parisian art studio\, while a full lineup of hands-on experiences invites guests to build their own artistic portfolio. \nAfter viewing the floral exhibition\, guests can experiment with a range of creative activities led by Museum educators\, including: \n\nOil Pastel Figure Drawing – Sketch live models dressed in Belle Époque attire within an open-air Parisian drawing salon.\nPoster Printing Studio – Design and print your own poster using mix-and-match plates created by the Museum’s Teen Council\nImpressionist & Pointillist Painting – Create a garden-inspired artwork using dot painting techniques\nArt Nouveau Brooch Design – Design and create a wearable pin inspired by florals\, vines\, and butterflies\nCollaborative Mural – Contribute to a large-scale community painting inspired by works on view\nCamera Obscura Experience – Explore early photography and create your own optical device\nStorytime & Marionette Performances – Enjoy scheduled storytelling and puppet shows in a whimsical garden library\n\n  \nBring the entire household to view the inspiring floral exhibition then enjoy the popular Garden of Activities\, a floral-themed hands-on space led by Museum educators.
