Resourceful single mother Raimunda already has enough on her hands—a young daughter, a burgeoning business, and a pesky corpse hidden in a freezer chest—when her recently deceased mother decides to return to patch up some unfinished family business and lay to rest old secrets. Acclaimed Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar infuses this tale of family, mystery, and unexpected ghostly visitations with his singular visual panache and ironic humor. 2006, Rated R, 121 min. In Spanish with English subtitles.

This film is presented in connection with Art and Empire: The Golden Age of Spain.

Join us on the same day from 5:00–8:00 p.m. for our free community event On the Steps at SDMA: The Golden Age of Spain, highlighting Spanish arts and culture. Admission to Art and Empire: The Golden Age of Spain is free to the public from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on this day.
