Art Alive returns April 25-28, 2024
Art Alive brings a kaleidoscope of colorful floral arrangements interpreting works of art from the Museum collection, four days of fun-filled events, large-scale art and flower installations, and a garden of activities for families and artists of all ages. Art Alive 2024 celebrates the art of India and will feature a special installation from the Museum’s renowned Edwin Binney 3rd Collection of South Asian paintings.
Art Alive is The San Diego Museum of Art’s signature annual fundraiser, providing essential support for the Museum’s exhibitions, education, outreach, and public programs. Talented floral designers fill the galleries with fragrant arrangements inspired by the Museum collection, offering a brilliantly colored backdrop for a weekend of beloved traditions and art-inspired activities.

Art of India
Art Alive 2024 is taking inspiration from a special art installation from the Museum’s renowned Edwin Binney 3rd Collection of South Asian paintings, which will set the theme of the Art Alive weekend.
Premiere Dinner
An elegant black-tie affair, the Art Alive Premiere Dinner celebrates art with a spectacular multi-course dinner inside a Museum gallery and is the first opportunity to see the Art Alive floral exhibition on view throughout the Museum.
Bloom Bash
Marvelous amusement awaits at Bloom Bash, the vibrant, late-night celebration that kicks off Art Alive weekend. Revel in craft food and cocktails from more than 30 local food purveyors, art installations, live performances, and music, plus be among the first to see the beautiful Art Alive floral exhibition.
Rotunda Design
Learn more about Art Alive 2024 rotunda designer Meghaa Modi, India’s premier concept and event designer, and her vision to transform the Museum rotunda with flowers.

As a preview of Art Alive each year, The San Diego Museum of Art brings a floral show to sites around San Diego with our signature Art Alive marketing campaign, Art Alive Petal Pop-Ups. For four consecutive weekends each year leading up to Art Alive, large-scale floral installations are created at surprise locations around town.
Garden of Activities
Great for artists of all ages, the Art Alive Garden of Activities brings hands-on fun to the floral extravaganza of Art Alive weekend. Join Museum educators in the floral-themed art-making space to experiment and explore through a variety of hands-on arts projects and demonstrations.
