This presentation will highlight a 1904 work by Monet titled Waterlilies or The Water Lily Pond (Nymphéas),
which is on special loan from the Denver Museum of Art to The San Diego Museum of Art on view in Reflections on Monet. Ariel Plotek, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at The San Diego Museum of Art, will discuss this work as well as other of Monet’s studies during his time in Giverny. Monet created a remarkable sense of immediacy and light in his work there. His desire to portray the constantly changing qualities of light and color in nature continue to appeal to generations of art lovers.
