Join us for an educational and entertaining trip to explore the vibrant arts scene in Baja California, Mexico, paired with an elegant wine-tasting experience over lunch.

Explore the vibrant arts scene across two locations:

La Caja: Discover La Caja Arte y Cultura (the Art and Culture Box), a space in Tijuana that has been promoting the visual arts since 2005. It represents both established and emerging artists, offering exhibitions and opening horizons for local and international artistic production.

Beliz Iristay—TURKMEX Studio, Guadalupe Valley: Experience the work of Beliz Iristay, a visual artist working on both sides of the United States and Mexico border region. Her artwork is a representation of the identity created in the in-between spaces. Iristay creates installation work that critically examines the traditions in the cultures she has experienced, specifically as they relate to tradition, identity, gender, and custom.

Enjoy wine tasting and lunch at Monte Xanic Winery.

Monte Xanic was founded in 1987 by Eric, Hans, Manuel, Ricardo and Tomás, all great lovers of good wine and with a common dream: to create quality Mexican wines that would position Mexico on the international oenology map. “Our passion, devotion and attention to detail have earned us the recognition as the best wine in Mexico, and that fills us with unquestionable pride.” This elegant wine tasting experience and charcuterie is included in your ticket price.

Important note: All attendees must bring their passport to cross the border. Passport information is required several days before the trip.

7:15 a.m. | Arrive in Balboa Park

7:30 a.m. | Bus departs from Balboa Park (from the north end of the Pan American Plaza parking lot)

9:30 a.m. | Arrive at La Caja

10:30 a.m.–noon | Travel to Monte Xanic in Guadalupe Valley

1:30-3:30 p.m. | Wine Tasting Experience with Lunch

3:00 p.m. | Arrive at TURKMEX studio

4:00 p.m. | Depart for Balboa Park

7:00 p.m. | Estimated arrival at Balboa Park

Pick Up Location

Bus will leave from the north end of the Pan American Plaza parking lot (opposite end of the Air and Space Museum) in Balboa Park promptly at 7:30 a.m.
