Come together with family, friends, and the community at large at a special, free community event celebrating and honoring Día de los Muertos. Enjoy live performances, family-friendly art-making activities, and a special Día de los Muertos ofrenda created by visiting artist Betsabeé Romero in collaboration with local San Diego students, all in the Balboa Park Plaza de Panama in front of The San Diego Museum of Art and free to the community.

Through artist-designed artmaking activities, community members will be invited to honor loved ones, share memories, and contribute meaningful objects and creative responses to the ofrenda on view in the plaza. Romero will join the Museum community for the inauguration of the SDMA ofrenda on Sunday, November 1 at 11:00 a.m. on the Museum’s front steps.

The Taco Party, a gathering featuring unlimited street-style tacos, refreshing beverages, music, and a festive atmosphere, is a ticketed event complementing Día de los Muertos at SDMA.

Free admission to The San Diego Museum of Art (SDMA) and the Museum of Photographic Arts at The San Diego Museum of Art (MOPA@SDMA) noon–5:00 p.m. further complements the Día de los Muertos celebration.
