Join us for our inaugural Film Club and get a new view of Rembrandt. This film interweaves documentary footage of a landmark exhibition hosted by the Rijksmuseum and London’s National Gallery, Rembrandt’s life story, demonstrations of his painting techniques, and behind-the-scenes preparations at these world famous institutions. Exploring many of the exhibition’s key works, through contributions from specially invited guests including curators and leading art historians, this deeply moving film seeks to explore the truth about the man behind the legend. 2019, rated PG, 90 minutes.
Participants will be given a private link to view Exhibition on Screen: Rembrandt at their leisure, then will be invited to this exclusive live online event with Michael Brown, the Museum’s Curator of European Art, for a discussion about Rembrandt’s life, techniques, and the world in which he lived.
