The horse was one of the first subjects of art, depicted in cave paintings and sculptures nearly 20,000 years ago. Whether sacred symbols or images of power and beauty, the subject of horses continues to inspire the artists of today. View the Museum’s collection from ancient Asian sculptures and Chinese ceramics to European and American painting.
