Professor Jacqueline Hahn will speak about Richard Deacon, British abstract sculptor and winner of the Turner Prize in 1987 and subject of the current exhibition Richard Deacon: What You See Is What You Get. Professor Hahn describes the evolution of Deacon’s art including his drawings; his use of different materials like wood, steel, and ceramics; and the shapes, lines, and sizes of his sculptures, from private pieces to museum works to special installations.
