This tour will explore the Museum’s exhibition Berenice Abbott: Changing New York. We will explore selections from Berenice Abbott’s monumental photography project Changing New York that captures the rapid transformation of New York City in the 1930s. Explore modern skyscrapers, harbors, highways, city squares, neighborhoods, storefronts, and hand-painted signs that convey the essence of a specific time and place. Abbott’s photographs changed the course of photography in the twentieth century and are a reminder of the excitement and joy ignited when seeing the world anew.
