Wednesday, February 14th

1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. PT

This tour will explore The San Diego Museum of Art’s special exhibition, Korea in Color: A Legacy of Auspicious images. This exhibition invites visitors to encounter the role art once played in everyday Korean life across four themes connected to a traditional household: protection offered by animals at the doorstep; symbols of abundance and longevity in the garden; scholarly objects and books in the study; and the appreciation of majestic mountains beyond the walls of the home. These works, many on view in the US for the first time, highlight the continued influence of color, showcase the legacy of auspicious images, and span a variety of media. Join us for this visual celebration of the culture of Korea.
