The Latin American Arts Council recognizes and engages in programming that fosters appreciation that includes all forms of art and artists within the scope of Latin America.

Since its founding in the early 1960s, passion for the diverse cultures of Latin American Native and Hispanic peoples have provided the inspiration.

In a transformational journey toward more diversity, inclusivity and relevance within the scope of Latin American art, LAAC programs also feature art disciplines of dance, media arts, music, theater, and visual arts (including folk art). Our programming includes artists who are not only from Latin America or are influenced by Latin America but those with ancestry or heritage from Latin America.

To be a member of a support council, you must be a member of The San Diego Museum of Art at the Dual level ($125) or above. The annual membership dues for support councils are an additional $50 for an individual and $75 for dual.
